US Government Favors Illegals Over Senior Citizens

I am writing this to recount a personal experience after having read
a message in one of these newsgroups regarding how the United States
has become a de facto “welfare-retirement haven” for the senior
citizens of other countries who — never having contributed a penny to
the U.S.’s Social Security system — nonetheless come here in veritable
droves in the full knowledge and expectation that they will promptly
begin to collect monthly “retirement” checks for the rest of their
lives. Probably one of the best sources for information about how these
senior citizen foreigners (who are, ironically) frequently petitioned
to come to the U.S. by their well-to-do immigrant offspring who arrived
in the U.S. first) is the website of Professor Norman Matloff of the
University of California
(http://heather.cs.ucdavis.edu/pub/Immigration/Index.html).

Now for my family’s personal story:

Just recently my wife received in the mail her annual Statement from
the U.S. Social Security Administration.

I should point out at this point that before we had children my wife
worked full-time for several years at a most unpleasant and low-paid
job.

In the Statement she recently received next to the word “Retirement”
is written:

“To get retirement benefits, you need 40 credits
of work. Your record shows you have at least
[# deleted] credits at this time.”

Unfortunately, the number of credits my U.S. citizen wife earned
while working at her low-wage job early in our marriage is not
sufficient for her to be eligible to receive retirement benefits.

YET THIS *SAME* U.S. GOVERNMENT WHICH DENIES MY U.S. CITIZEN WIFE
RETIREMENT BENEFITS REGULARLY MAILS MONTHLY RETIREMENT CHECKS TO
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF ELDERLY FOREIGN IMMIGRANTS OF RETIREMENT AGE –
MANY OF THEM THE PARENTS OF WELL-TO-DO DOCTORS, COMPUTER EXPERTS,
ENGINEERS, BUSINESS OWNERS ETC.!

Next to “Disability” is written:

To get benefits if you become severely disabled
right now, you need 20 credits of work. You had
to earn these credits in the last 10 years. Your
record shows you do not have enough credits in
the right time period.”

To add insult to injury, next to “Survivors” is written:

“Your spouse or minor child may be eligible for a
special one-time death benefit of $255″

in the event that my wife died. THIS EVEN AS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF
SENIOR CITIZEN FOREIGNERS WHO NEVER WORKED A DAY IN THEIR LIVES IN THE
U.S. EVERY MONTH RECEIVE CHECKS SEVERAL TIMES LARGER THAN THAT “ONE-
TIME $255″!

Next to “Medicare” is written:

“To get Medicare benefits at age 65, you need the same number of work
credits that you need for retirement benefits. You do not have enough
credits to qualify at this time.”

WHAT’S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE, AMERICA?
